Ball State has gone 3-1 this season, with notable wins over BCS teams like Indiana and, most recently, South Florida. The Cardinals’s offense posted 413 total yards against the Bulls squad. Their defense also came up big with an interception by sophomore cornerback Eric Patterson to seal the victory. Ball State’s lone loss came against No. 17-ranked Clemson. While the game wasn’t close, with a score of 52-27, Ball State has faced high-end competition thus far.

Central Michigan staked its claim as another recent MAC team to take down a BCS team. They defeated Iowa 32-31 Saturday. Central Michigan was able to score the game-winning field goal as time expired and sealed its first victory over a BSC team since 2009. Central Michigan lost to Michigan State a week before Iowa, getting blown out of the water with a score of 41-7.

Western Michigan is playing at a .500 mark so far, but its notable win came against BCS opponent Connecticut with a score of 30-24. The Broncos have faced three BCS teams so far, not faring well against the likes of Illinois and Minnesota, as they lost both games. Western Michigan’s other win on the season came against Eastern Illinois in a one-sided affair by the score of 52-21.
