The following was taken directly from area police and fire department records, or from DeKalb County court records. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law

Sept. 9, 2012

At 10:36 p.m. officers responded to 7106 N. 13th St. in an attempt to locate Marisanta Sandoval-Banos for a warrant. The suspect was located and identified and the warrant was confirmed. Sandoval-Banos was placed under arrest and transported to DeKalb Police Station and was later released on bond.

At 9:42 p.m. Matthew Magden was located at 1329 Sycamore Road for an issued warrant for retail theft. The warrant was confirmed and Magden was transported to DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:27 p.m., a victim called for an ambulance to 427 Haish Blvd. and advised police she fell down the stairs and hurt herself. She was transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital. An investigation led to the arrest of Joseph Bauman for domestic battery.

At 1:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 301 N. Third St. to speak with the complainant regarding two individuals stealing her bag containing a laptop. No one was arrested.

At 4:11 p.m., an officer responded to 322 College St. for a report of a subject at a nearby party urinating on a garage. The officer spoke with the Andrew Burkett, who agreed to control his house guests. Burkett was found to be wanted on a warrant for contempt of court in DeKalb County. Burkett was arrested and processed through booking but was unable to post bond. He was transported to DeKalb County Jail.

At 2:45 a.m., an officer was patrolling 1000 Regent Drive when a male approached the squad car holding his face screaming. The officer called for an ambulance. The male stated he had been pepper sprayed. The male did not provide any suspect information and the only information received was that he was at a party on 700 Fotis Drive. The DeKalb Fire Department transported the male to Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

At 3:52 a.m., a victim contacted the DeKalb Police to report that she and her boyfriend were just robbed in the back parking lot of 1120 Varsity Blvd. An investigation was started.

At 9:17 a.m., Chanel McKinnie called DeKalb Police to report a male subject, Michael O’Malley, approached her with a machete as she was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway of 1257 Penny St. O’Malley was taken into custody and transported to the DeKalb Police Station where he processed for disorderly conduct. It was learned that McKinnie was found to have a suspended driver’s license. She was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license, having no insurance and illegal amplification of a sound system. She was released on the scene.
