After nine years of musical entertainment, the Gavin Wilson Show will take the stage for a final time at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second Street.

Attendees will experience Gavin’s arrangement of jazz, modern music, magic, ventriloquism and dancing.

“It’s been 10 years and I am looking forward to trying something new,” said show produced Gavin Wilson. “My kids are getting older and beginning to move on, so I decided that this would be it.”

Wilson said the show mostly benefits the Egyptian Theatre.

“All of the proceeds go to the theatre and help with preservation,” said Derek Gibbs, membership and marketing director of the Egyptian Theatre. “A lot of people do not know that we are a non-profit organization. I’m assuming that this show will be the show of the year.”

Attendees can expect to see three different bands with a live orchestra. There will also be a wide variety of music and dance.

“We have been preparing for the last six months, and if you like jazz or classical music you should definitely come and see it,” Wilson said. “It’s going to be an interesting show.”

Gibbs said although it’s his first year working at the Egyptian Theatre, he can already see the impact the show has had on people.

“People have been asking a lot about it and tickets have been selling really well,” Gibbs said. “I’m really looking forward to it.”
