Shooting at Edgebrook Drive on Saturday, no injuries reported

DeKalb police on patrol heard shots fired at 4:20 a.m. Saturday in the area of Edgebrook Drive and Normal Road, according to a press release from the DeKalb Police Department.

Upon investigation, it was found that three vehicles with bullet holes were in the parking lot of 820 Edgebrook Drive. Witnesses reported that the shots were fired from an apartment at the same address and further investigation led to the arrest of one of the occupants of the apartment, Demetrius  Wade, 25.

Wade had allegedly engaged in an argument with several people in the parking lot of 820 Edgebrook and fired at them. The victims fled the scene and no one was injured.

The handgun Wade used was found at one of his friend’s apartments, 732 N. Annie Glidden Road. A search warrant executed at Wade’s apartment led to the discovery of cannabis and ammunition.

Wade was charged with armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm, criminal damage to property, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of cannabis.
