Sept. 17, 2012

At 10:40 p.m., officers were sent to Northern View Apartments in regard to a report of domestic abuse. Officers arrived on the scene and started an investigation. Willie D. Obannon, 21, of Chicago, was arrested for domestic battery. Obannon was processed at the NIU Police Department and then sent to the DeKalb County jail.

At 3:45 p.m., an officer was sent to the security office of the Holmes Student Center in regard to a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was administratively closed due to a lack of leads.

At 4:30 p.m., officers responded to University Village in regard to a report of cannabis. Officers made contact with a person related to the report in front of the New Residence Hall Complex. Contact resulted in the person being referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia.
