Campus blotter for 4/18/12

Monday

At 7:20 a.m., an officer responded to Lot S for a report of criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The officer met with a man who said someone broke the window of his vehicle and stole items from the car. This case is closed pending new leads.

At 7:37 a.m., an officer responded to Swen Parson Hall regarding criminal defacement to property. The officer met with a person who showed the officer graffiti on an elevator door. This case is closed pending new leads.

At 12:40 p.m., an officer on a building check of Founders Memorial Library took a theft report. A man said someone stole his laptop. This case is pending investigation.

At 3:29 p.m., an officer responded to the bursar’s office in Swen Parson Hall regrading counterfeit money. The officer met with a person who showed him a counterfeit bill. This case is pending investigation.

At 3:47 p.m., an officer responded to Founders Memorial Library regarding two males harassing patrons. The officer met with the complainant and the two males. One of the males, Eric Flores, 26, of Villa Park, had a warrant for failure to appear out of Kane County for a traffic offense. Flores was arrested on the warrant and processed at the NIU Police Department. Flores was released after posting bond.

At 11:11 p.m., officers responded to the Douglas Hall loading dock regarding a battery that occurred on a NIU charter bus. The officers were told two males got into a fight on the bus. Both males were interviewed. This case is pending investigation.
