Tuesday

• At 1:45 p.m., DeKalb Police responded to Wal-Mart, 2300 Sycamore Road, for a report of a retail theft. Upon arrival, police learned the subject, Truth R. Masri, 18, of Holcomb, had attempted a theft at Best Buy, 2074 Sycamore Road. The officer spoke with Best Buy employees and found a theft had been attempted, but the merchandise had not been taken from the store. Police found that the merchandise had been damaged in the attempt. Masri was arrested and charged with retail theft and criminal damage to property. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Station and later released on bond.
