NIU volleball posts 7-1 record in eight match trip

A long road trip ended up being successful for NIU volleyball.

The Huskies closed out an eight-match vocation expedition with a 3-1 road victory over Stephen F. Austin at the Ladyjack Invitational.

NIU posted a 7-1 record overall in its eight-match road trip.

The Huskies took second place overall at the invite.

“We played a really good team match tonight against a strong Stephen F. Austin team,” said NIU head coach Ray Gooden in a press release. “At the end of the trip, we ended up 7-1. It has given us really good experience and helped us get a lot of information about our team.

For the invitational, NIU’s Kristin Hoffman and Lauren Wicinski were named to the all-tournament team.

Hoffman finished with 85 assists and 15 digs while Wicinski had a team leading 35 kills, also chipping in nine digs, three aces and two blocks.
