Real thing is next

After a late match with the University of Notre Dame last night, the women’s soccer team can officially begin counting its wins and losses.

In order for the team to have the maximum number of victories, head coach Frank Horvat knows that he must get them to play unselfishly.

“The challenge for me is to get all of them to work together,” Horvat said. “The freshmen come in wide-eyed, and the transfers and former club players each have their own ideas of what they can do. I have to try and get them away from the labels and realize they are a team now.”

The opening home game is on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. against Teikyo-Marycrest University. NIU students can attend free with a valid ID.
