The NIU women’s golf team finished in a respectable fourth place in the Monday-Tuesday University of Nebraska 1992 Husker Women’s Golf Invitational, but the spotlight fell upon NIU linkster Kim Hodge.

The junior captured the first tournament victory of her career with a 228 for the 54 hole outing. Hodge was tied for second on the leader board going into the last 18 holes, but her four-over-par 75 in the final round was the second-best score turned in on the day. She also turned in tallies of 79 and 74.

NIU finished the outing with a 959 team total, while the title went to Memphis State University who shot a 949. Iowa State University and Nebraska tied for second with a 950.

Senior Nicole Jeray took ninth place with a 236 tally and teammate Karen Bromberg rounded out the top-twenty after turning in a 250. Shelley Wendels and Jen Hall finished one stroke behind at 251.
