The NIU men’s and women’s diving teams ended their postseason action at the NCAA Zone C Meet in Minneapolis over the weekend.

Senior Bryan Hanania took the highest rank of all the Mid-Continent divers with a 23rd-place showing in the one-meter competition with a 403.05 and a 24th place in the three-meter (376.80). Matt Mersman followed with scores of 359.10 and 350.75 in the one- and three-meter dives, respectively.

“Bryan did a really good job,” said NIU diving coach Jeff Symons. “He was very consistent in both the one- and three-meter.”

In her first NCAA Qualification Meet, freshman Amy Inselburger took 25th place in the three-meter dive with 333.35 and 27th place in the one-meter dive with 260.00. Senior Jen Horoky closed out the year with a 26th and 28th place finish in the one- and three-meter dives, respectively.

The competition concluded a long and grueling season for the Huskies that started back in October.

“I think our season gets very long,” said Symons. “It’s really hard to stay mentally tough through that many competitions.”
