Jonamac Orchard will have Big D’s food truck at 11 a.m. and live music from Tutti Loops from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.

Here are some events happening in DeKalb this Saturday to attend to celebrate Halloween.

SYCAMORE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL

On Saturday in downtown Sycamore, there will be several events happening at Sycamore’s Annual Pumpkin Festival to consider attending. The festival is free and open to the public. 

The activities on Saturday include the decorated pumpkin display, a pancake breakfast, various food trucks, face painting, a carnival, a pie eating contest and more.

The Sycamore Pancake Breakfast begins at 7 a.m. The food trucks will be there at 10 a.m.

JONAMAC ORCHARD

Jonamac Orchard, 19412 Shabbona Road, Malta, has different food trucks and music every weekend.

This Saturday, Big D’s food truck will be there at 11 a.m. There will be live music from Tutti Loops from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., according to the orchard’s website. This event is free and open to the public.

Jonamac Orchard is also hosting a haunted corn maze from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets for the haunted corn maze cost $17 per person. Pre-purchase tickets here. A limited number of walk-up tickets will be available for purchase at the orchard, according to Jonamac Orchard’s website

EARLY VOTING IN THE HOLMES STUDENT CENTER

Early voting in the 2022 election will be in the Glass Gallery Lounge located in the Holmes Student Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. People who wish to register to vote must present two kinds of ID and the following information: Illinois driver’s license or state ID, the last four digits of SSN, date of birth and proof of local address. 

NIU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

The Huskies face off against the Loras College Duhawks. The game begins at 1 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

“SHE KILLS MONSTERS” PERFORMANCE

NIU School of Theatre and Dance will perform “She Kills Monsters” at 2 p.m. in the O’Connell Theatre located in the Stevens Building. 

The play is about identity, grief and triumph and a girl who develops the ability to determine how to move on with her own life, according to the NIU Events Calendar

NIU MEN’S SOCCER

The Huskies face off against the University of Akron Zips. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

KISHWAUKEE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA HALLOWEEN CONCERT

Conductor, Linc Smelser will be conducting a Halloween celebration concert, including musical selections such as: “Night on Bald Mountain,” “Rosin Eating Zombies from Outer Space” and “Imperial March from Star Wars.”

The concert will have two performances on Saturday, one from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and another from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Boutell Memorial Concert Hall located in the Music Building, according to NIU Events Calendar. The concert is free to attend.
