Oaken Acres hosts wildlife rehabilitation presentation

Nancy Kasinski, handler with Oaken Acres of Sycamore, holds Hamlet, a barred owl Wednesday in Montgomery Hall's auditorium. Christy Gebritz, director of operations at Oaken Acres asserts, said if an injured animal is found in the wild to call a shelter immediately and keep the animal in a warm, dark, quiet space and not to feed it or give it water. Students can learn more about caring for wildlife with Oaken Acres by volunteering or interning with the organization.

Elementary school children visit Convocation Center for basketball

Littlejohn, Tilton and Mary Morgan elementary school children cheered on the Huskies during their field trip visit for Wednesday's game against the Toledo Rockets at the Convocation Center. Kids held up handcrafted signs and posters, participated in on-court games and competitions and got a chance to meet and high five Victor E. Huskie.

Northern Television Center Hosts Open House Anchor Night

Students were offered the chance to read from the teleprompter and learn about the television broadcast station at NIU. NTC news broadcasts on campus channel 20 Mondays through Thursdays and has a YouTube channel at YouTube.com/user/NTCNIU/videos.
