Motorists reminded of January registration deadline

Passenger car owners whose license plates expire in January can purchase renewal stickers online at www.cyberdriveillinois.com or by using the Touch Tone Renewal system, or by visiting a Driver Services facility. B-truck owners also can purchase new design plates by utilizing the same methods listed above.

Anyone driving a vehicle on or after Feb. 1 with an expired January 2003 sticker will be subject to a $75 fine.

Final round of labyrinth brick orders now available

Citizens can now be a part of the DeKalb Community Labyrinth and Serenity Garden in Huntley Park by buying a brick.

Bricks come in 4-inch by 8-inch and 8-inch by 8-inch sizes. The last day to purchase them is Tuesday, Feb. 18.

CHADD to conduct meeting next Monday

Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is having a meeting from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 at the DeKalb Public Library Conference.

CHADD is a nationwide, non-profit, consumer-based organization working for families and individuals with AD/HD.

DeKalb Police Dept. to offer hunter safety course

A hunter safety education course will be held at the DeKalb Police Department, 200 S. Fourth St.

The 10-hour course is scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, 27 and March 3. Attendance is mandatory for all three sessions.

There is no fee, but seats are limited and are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To register, contact the police department at 748-8400. For questions, ask for Corporal Haacher or Detective Stewart.

LIHEAP is now scheduling appointments for program

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is scheduling appointments for residents of Kane and DeKalb counties.

Eligibility for the program is based upon the total gross income of the household for the previous 30 days. Applicants should bring proof when applying for assistance.

College students invited to participate in Space Fair

The Space Foundation is announcing the Space Career Fair for college students.

All graduate and undergraduate students with any major are welcome to attend the fair, which will take place on Thursday, April 10 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The fair will feature presentations by company representatives, a free luncheon for the first 300 students to register and the opportunity to e-mail resumes to leading space companies for a possible interview.
