NIU men's basketball coach Jim Molinari has been named an assistant coach for the United States entry in this summer's Junior World Championships at Edmonton, Canada. Molinari will assist University of Florida head coach Lon Kruger.

The NIU women's golf team finished seventh among 18 schools competing in the North/South Collegiate Invitational contested Monday and Tuesday at the Baymeadows Golf and Country Club in Florida.

Host Jacksonville State claimed the team title with a 968, NIU was seventh at 1,005. The top Huskie finisher was Nicole Jeray who finished with a 243 total. Following Jeray for NIU was Mishelle Reed, who posted a 256.
