Faceoff: Who should the Bulls play in the first round?

By Matt Hopkinson and Brian Thomas | April 24, 2012

Matt: Well, Brian, the NBA playoffs are right around the corner. Putting all the drama from the season aside, what’s your stance on the Chicago Bulls’ first round matchup? Assuming the Bulls can hold off the Miami Heat for overall No. 1 seed in the...

The Rant: Don’t want to play for Team USA? Well, then don’t

By James Cantagallo | April 15, 2012

Last Wednesday, the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade said players who play on the Olympic team should be paid for playing on Team USA. What happened to the days of it being an honor to play on Team USA? Players for years have strived to represent the USA in...

The Rant: Ripping into Rip

By Jimmy Johnson | April 4, 2012

It’s time to forget the notion Richard Hamilton is going to contribute for the Chicago Bulls.

I, for one, am waiting for a collage featuring Hamilton sitting on the Bulls’ bench holding his head up and sporting his egg white headband.

It’s funny how Hamilton was pegged as the acquisition to get the Bulls past the Miami Heat.

Instead, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will likely blow past him if these two teams meet in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Hamilton hasn’t been a huge disappointment, though, if you didn’t have pie-in-the-sky expectations for him.

Look at the facts: prior to joining the Bulls, Hamilton’s combined minutes from the regular season and playoffs was 32,580.

He’s old, beat up and with it being a condensed NBA season, he’s out of place.

The Bulls’ only chance to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy will come down to getting top-notch performances from Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng, and not from Mr. Glass.

The Rant: Heat pass on butterball big man Curry for good reason

By Jimmy Johnson | April 13, 2011

The Miami Heat told Eddy Curry what the former Chicago Bulls center couldn't say to all those cheeseburgers he's devoured: no. After seven workouts, Heat president Pat Riley passed on adding the butterball big man to the playoff roster. Seven workouts?...

Faceoff: Who should the Bulls face?

By Jimmy Johnson and Brian Thomas | April 11, 2011

Brian Thomas: The NBA playoffs are right around the corner, and the Chicago Bulls have the No. 1 seed in the East locked up. Assuming that they make it through their first two matchups, taking care of the Indiana Pacers in the first round and then presumably...

The Rant: LeBron is pissing away his image

March 30, 2011

You've got to hand it to LeBron James for his latest arrogant incident. Tuesday night, the Miami Heat rolled into play James' former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavs fans waited anxiously to pelt James with boos, and even some obscenities once he was...

“Didn’t you get the memo?”

By Chris Dertz | March 7, 2011

Derrick Rose doesn't want anyone to think the Bulls can make a playoff run. He wants the league to forget about them. He wants them to forget that Chicago is second in the East. Sorry, Derrick; you just swept the most publicized team in the history of...

The Rant: Miami Heat have Bulls’ record in sight

By Mike Buda | November 9, 2010

The crowning of the Miami Heat as the 2010-11 NBA champions will be the exclamation point on why they are far more superior than the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan and his band of scrubs weren't good enough for an NBA championship, but since...
