SA to hold open house next week

By Penny Rynberk

The Student Association will open its doors to all NIU students, faculty and administration with an open house next Wednesday morning.

Everyone who is interested in learning more about the SA is invited to visit the office and meet the staff, said SA Public Relations Director Rebecca Bahr.

The open house will take place at the SA office, second floor of the Holmes Student Center, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“The SA advisers will be in their offices to answer questions and discuss what their committees are working on,” Bahr said. Former senators also will be available to provide additional information.

The open house is a good way for students looking for campus involvement to learn about various student groups and services, Bahr said.

It also is an opportunity for interested senator candidates to discuss issues and senate procedures with old senators and advisors, Bahr said.

“Interested candidates should learn as much about the SA as much as they can before they get started in their positions,” Bahr said.

In addition to the open house, a meeting for all interested senator candidates will be held tonight at 7 p.m., Room 406 of the student center.
