Students soak up the heat near the Visitor Pay Lot with a hammock in the distance. NIU experienced turbulent weather Tuesday including, sunshine, thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail, heavy rain and light snow throughout the afternoon and night. (Totus Tuus Keely | Northern Star)

DeKALB – Unseasonably warm temperatures swept through the area Tuesday before a strong storm swept across Northern Illinois. The storm was followed by a cold front Wednesday, bringing light snow and heavy winds to campus.
