December graduation is only four weeks away. On NIU’s campus, some students are experiencing a classic mix of stress, excitement and extreme senioritis.
Others, with a cozy few years until their graduation, don’t have to think about post-graduation plans too much. But don’t wait too long, Huskies, there’s no time like the present to start thinking about where you want to go after college!
No matter where you’re at: breathe, you’ve got this. NIU will miss you, but the rest of the world’s ready to be brightened by your light whenever you walk that stage.
With some time to plan, sophomore business administration major Tamia Ollie will be a student for a while yet, even after graduating with a bachelor’s.
Q: “Do you know when you’re graduating?”
A: “Yes, 2027.”
Q: “What are your goals for after graduation?”
A: “When I do graduate, I do want to come back for my master’s in business administrative. Currently, right now, I don’t know.”
Kayla Schaffer, a senior health and human sciences major, is set and ready for a new life that’s only a few weeks away.
Q: “Do you know when you’re graduating?”
A: “This December of 2024.”
Q: “What are your goals for after graduation?”
A: “I am going to actually start my certification for exercise physiology in the next two months. And then I already have a job offer back in my hometown.”
Aeryn Chapman, a senior middle level teaching major, is open to a variety of opportunities after graduation.
Q: “Do you know when you’re graduating?”
A: “Spring 2025.”
Q: “What are your goals for after graduation?”
A: “I am planning, if I can, to stay in DeKalb and teach around the Sycamore and DeKalb area. Hopefully with sixth grade, but I wouldn’t be opposed to teaching seventh or eighth grade either.”
