Competing at the Fighting Illini Challenge, NIU track & field junior Arianna Calloway won the high jump for a second consecutive week.
Calloway earned a first place finish on Saturday in Urbana-Champaign after she cleared the mark of 1.65 meters on her first attempt.
Calloway also won the event at the Bill Bergan Classic with a jump of 1.74 meters.
Sophomore Jasmijn Raes finished in second for the high jump behind Calloway on Saturday, clearing the mark of 1.65 meters on her second attempt.
The Huskies’ 4×400 meter relay team was the only team to compete in the event, running a time of 4:17.45, 14 seconds slower than the team’s time at the Bill Bergan Classic.
Sophomore Esther Momalife earned a season best time in the 60-meter dash, placing second in the event with a time of 7.81 seconds.
Graduate student Natasha Chetty finished in third place for the 60-meter dash, finishing the race with a time of 7.92 seconds.
Sophomore Miashlie Jean earned her personal best time for the 60-meter hurdle during Saturday’s action in Urbana-Champaign. Jean’s time of 9.01 seconds earned her a second-place finish in the event.
Jean’s previous personal best for the 60-meter hurdles was 9.17 seconds, set at the Huskies first invitational of season at the 2025 Blue and Gold Invitational.
Sophomore Precious Umukoro earned a season best jump in the triple jump with her longest mark measuring at 12.28 meters.
Umukoro cleared 12 meters for the first time this season at the Fighting Illini Challenge, with her previous best this season coming at the 2025 Blue and Gold Invitational.
The winner of the triple jump, Illinois’ Romi Tamir, jumped a distance of 13.50 meters which ranks second among all Division 1 female athletes in the triple jump this year.
Freshman Ariel Hernandez earned a fourth place spot in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:15.82. Hernandez’s time was .01 ahead of Illinois’ freshman Stella Davis, who finished in fifth place.
The Huskies next invitational will be on Friday and Saturday in South Bend, Indiana for the Meyo Classic, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
