NIU accounting majors who believe practice makes perfect can enroll in a comprehensive Certified Public Accountant exam review course offered this fall.

The course is designed to prepare students who have never taken the CPA exam, and for those who are repeating the exam and have not taken NIU’s review course.

The course will begin Nov. 25 in Westmont, Ill., at the Inland Meeting Center, 400 E. Ogden Ave., and it will end on April 28, 1990. Most class sessions will be on Saturdays, and several night sessions held on Wednesday from February through April.

This comprehensive CPA exam review course costs $795 per student and a $30 late fee will added for students who sign up after Nov. 20.

Classes will be taught by accountancy and management faculty members from NIU and DePaul University. A free introductory session will be offered at the Inland Meeting Center on Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.

NIU’s pass rate on the May 1986 CPA exam was 60.4 percent, the highest in the country, according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.

Beginning next February, NIU will offer a 13-week intensive CPA review course offered in Rolling Meadows, Ill. The course is designed for people retaking the exam who feel they do not need a comprehensive review. The cost of the intensive review course is $495.
