Sea of Love is an erotic, suspense filled thriller that is perhaps the best movie that has graced the theaters all year.

Al Pacino stars as detective Frank Miller, a 20 year veteran of the New York police force.

Detective Miller becomes involved in a truly baffling murder case that revolves around ads placed in the personal column of a single’s magazine.

Miller and his partner Sherman (John Goodman of Roseanne) begin to investigate possible suspects by placing an ad of their own in the magazine.

Through an intriguing twist of fate, Miller finds himself strongly attracted to one of his prime suspects, Helen (Ellen Barkin.)

Many movies have labeled themselves as suspenseful, or in the thriller genre. However, few movies have ever really lived up to those names like Sea of Love does.

The movie keeps the viewer constantly guessing as to who the murderer is. Just when you think you have it figured out, something else happens to once again make you unsure.

Sea of Love also labels itself as being an erotic movie. This is no lie.

The movie had scenes that created sexual tension, but never once became vulgar or offensive. Everything was tastefully and effectively done.

The acting was superb and the characters were believable from the very beginning.

The movie pulls you into the plot so much that many, including myself, began talking out loud to the characters.

As Keller finds himself becoming more and more involved with Helen, he becomes torn between his professional judgement and his reckless infatuation.

Sea of Love portrays this inner conflict in such a way that the viewer also feels torn on the subject.

The movie contains some very chilling moments in which you are hanging on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens, only to jump up startled at the outcome.

Bottom line, Sea of Love is an excellent movie that viewers will want to see more than once.

The plot is wonderful, the movie was masterfully made, and it is an absolute must for everyone.
