Agenda might include raising student bus fee

The Student Association Mass Transit Board tonight might consider making a recommendation to raise the student busing fee.

Transit board chairman Dave Emerick said if a fee increase is implemented, he would not approve an increase of more than $1.

“If we do have a fee increase, it’s not to say it’ll be a giant one,” Emerick said. “We were able to manage well last year, and there was no fee increase.”

He attributed the possible increase to the addition of the late-night ride service and the handicapped transportation service, and increases in fuel and fixed expenses.

The transit board, which will meet at 5 p.m. in room 405 of the Holmes Student Center, will also form a subcommittee to address handicapped busing on campus and to discuss a proposed inter-campus bus route.
