SA debate set for tonight

Candidates in the Student Association executive elections will be allowed to voice their views and platforms in a debate tonight.

The debate between candidates for president, vice president and treasurer will be held in Diversions in the Holmes Student Center at 8 p.m.

SA Elections Commissioner Doug Moore said members of a three-person panel will ask questions of each candidate running for office.

Black Student Union President Pam Bozeman, Northern Star Editor Dave Duschene and last year’s SA president’s pro tempore Jim Schneider will sit on the panel, Moore said.

Questions will be directed to the candidates for treasurer first, followed by questions to the candidates for vice president and then the candidates for president. Moore said the candidates are allowed one to three minutes to respond to the questions.

If there is time at the end of the debate, questions will be taken from the audience, he said. Questions from the audience will be answered in the same format as the questions from the panel, Moore said.

Candidates for president are SA Sen. Joe Annunzio, Dale Bradley, Dan Donnelly and SA Public Relations Adviser Paula Radtke.

Vice presidential candidates are SA Sen. Gregg Bliss and Ed Gil.

Roger Beith and SA Sen. Diana Turowski are running for treasurer.

The executive elections will be held March 29 and 30.
