Brief description: 

The NIU Archery Club aims to involve students outside the classroom. Participate and learn what Archery is all about. Students can also have the opportunity to participate in archery events outside the university. Members are able to be involved in volunteer work to make them a better leader. 

Who can participate? 

All archery skill levels are welcome to participate. From those who have never held a bow to expert archers. There are no tryouts to be involved. Students must fill out an emergency contact form and sign non hazing agreement waiver.

 

When and where does the club meet?

The Archery Club meets every Monday evenings from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Anderson Hall Gym, 100. 

 

What is significantly important about this club?

Students do not need to invest in their own bow. Bow and arrows will be provided. The proper bows allowed are Recurve Bows and Longbows. The Archery Club is in the making the club open to the public next semester. The details are to come soon. Standard targets are used, but the club with provide fake animal targets too. 

Any upcoming events?

Nov. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Test your aim in Top Archer! Play a game of tag, Archery style! Archery Tag is similar to laser tag but with bow and arrows. The arrows used have a flat head and students must wear a helmet for safety. The Archery Club will try to have different games and events every Monday.

What is the cost to participate?

The first two visits are free. After a membership fee is required. The club requires a membership that individuals pay dues of $20 for the academic year. 

How to join?

Participates interested must go to the Huskie Link website and type in “Archery Club.” Login to the Huskie Link to see the full Archery Club information. Click the blue icon on the top right that says join. After there will be a faded box that says “membership pending.” The club will contact interested parties from their Z-ID used to login.
