Highest Grossing Films of the Weekend: March 22-24

After becoming the highest grossing film of 2019, “Captain Marvel” has been struck down by Jordan Peele with his revolutionary horror film “Us.” The film has been praised and audiences are dying to see Peele’s followup to “Get Out.”

1. “Us”- $71,117,625

Following his directorial debut “Get Out,” Jordan Peele has created another horror film which has captivated America by leading the domestic box office. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 95 percent, critics have praised the film for its strong characters and brilliant scares. 

2. “Captain Marvel”- $34,271,793

“Captain Marvel” once again has people coming to the theaters to see this female superhero and what she can bring to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With a Certified Fresh Rating of 79 percent, the film is the perfect blend of epic and fun.

3. “Wonder Park”- $8,761,117

“Wonder Park” has been slammed by many critics with a 30 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and audiences haven’t been too fond either with an audience rating of 44 percent. Despite this, the film has been described as having a colorful atmosphere and fun animation.
