If you’re in the mood for brunch, look no further than Sycamore’s Egg Haven Pancakes & Café, located at 2562 Sycamore Rd. They open daily 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I’m a pancake enthusiast, so I ordered the restaurant’s Cinnamon Spiced Apple Pancakes, promoted by Sycamore’s Eat Week.

Without any toppings, Egg Haven’s buttermilk pancakes are a fluffy, buttery breakfast. With the addition of syrupy apples and cinnamon, this dish becomes a breakfast apple pie. Hard pie crust is replaced with soft, side-plate sized pancakes.

With the equivalent of apple pie filling, you won’t need to add any extra syrup or butter to the pancakes. To cut through the sweetness, it’s a good idea to eat with someone and share their eggs or hash browns.

Egg Haven also has blueberries, banana slices and chocolate chips, as well as strawberries and Nutella to top your pancakes. In addition to pancakes, Egg Haven offers the best of brunch foods with crepes, skillets, French toast, omelets and benedict’s.

There’s still time to discover local cuisine like Egg Haven’s Cinnamon Spiced Apple Pancakes with Eat Week, continuing through Saturday, Feb. 2.
