DIY: Sugar Cookies Recipe

By Ashley Hines

It’s a hot summer and sugar cookies are a tasty treat that beat the long wait for fall. Here you will find one of the thousands of recipes for making these bad boys. I’ve made this recipe before and it’s pretty easy.

Ingredients

Two and three fourths cups of all purpose flour

One tsp of baking soda

One half teaspoon of baking powder

One cup of softened butter

One and one half cups of white cane sugar

One egg

One teaspoon of vanilla extract

Utensils needed

One small bowl

One large bowl

Whisk and wooden spoon

Cookie sheets

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  2. In the small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and baking powder. Put aside for later.

  3. In the large bowl, stir together the sugar and softened butter until it’s creamy and smooth.

  4. Then add the single egg and vanilla extract.

  5. Once done with this, add in the smaller bowl’s ingredients and mix until it is a dough.

  6. Once it’s a malleable dough, roll together the smaller pieces into balls.

  7. Place them on the cookie sheet about an inch apart.

  8. Place the cookies sheets into the oven and bake for eight to 10 minutes.

  9. Once they are done, take them out and let the warm cookies sit for nearly two minutes.

  10. When they have cooled down your sugar cookies are ready!

These cookies are super easy to make; I’m not a great baker and they turned out great for me. This desert is tasty and sweet just like the end of summer is meant to be!
