Have you been feeling a little overwhelmed lately?- like there’s not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything on your “must-do” list? Well, you’re in luck. And no, I haven’t magically made more hours in day, however, Nov. 1 is National Stress Awareness Day – the day you can let your friends, neighbors or even your teachers know just how stressed you really are, as if you don’t tell them every day already.

According to Days of the Year, Stress Awareness Day was declared by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA) to provide information, as well as strategies to overcome the stressful moments in the workplace, and in one’s personal life.

Although stress is a normal part of life, the ever-busy, fast-paced world we live in has brought immense amounts of stress. Therefore, I believe this national day should be celebrated more than once a year; weekly reminders to take a day off would be just fine in my book. I mean, how else could you celebrate National Stress Awareness Day other than removing all stress from your life?

Find what makes you want to pull your hair out, and remove it from your life…well at least for today. Whatever way you choose to celebrate this national day, make sure to take time to relax and free yourself of all overwhelming responsibilities.
