4 Things to Consider When Thinking About Grad School

So you completed your bachelor’s degree… now what? Some people will head into the work force and others will debate continuing their education. Choosing whether or not to go to grad school can be stressful, but don’t hyperventilate. Here are four things you should consider to see if grad school is for you.

1. Career Focus

What do you dream of doing? For me, grad school will open up new possibilities I aspire to achieve. For other people, their dreams can be accomplished without grad school.

2. Choosing a University

Does your dream grad school offer the program you want? To decide this, look at the curriculum offered. Also, is the school accredited? Many employers want a graduates from a credible school.

3. Sacrifices

What will this cost you financially and socially? It is important to plan out how you will be able to support yourself while in school as there may be some lifestyle changes you will have to make.

4. Think it Through

Why is grad school important to me right now?  Education can always be an option years after you get your Bachelor’s degree and some employers will offer tuition reimbursement.
