NFC North Playoff Hopes

By Derrick Green

With Aaron Rodgers possibly out for the remainder of the season, the Green Bay Packers are not a legitimate threat in the NFC North. If Green Bay wants any chance of reaching the playoffs, their defense must step up and force the opposing team’s offense to make bad decisions.

The Minnesota Vikings are the team with the best chance to win the NFC North division. The team is currently on a three game winning streak. The Vikings are well-rounded on both sides of the ball and are ranked sixth in total offense and tenth in total defense. The Vikings must continue to thrive on both side of the ball to keep playoff hopes alive.

The Detroit Lions have been inconsistent this season. The team has lost their last two after starting 3-1. If Detroit continues their way of play, they will not be able to contest for the playoffs. The Lions are ranked thirtieth in total offense and twelfth in total defense. They are not converting on offense and their defense is solid. They must score the ball and continue to play hard on defense to have a shot at the playoffs.

The Chicago Bears are on a rollercoaster season, currently 3-4 in the NFC North division. After starting 1-3 with Mike Glennon, the Bears made a big change. Mitchell Trubisky was promoted to starting quarterback for the Bears. They are 2-1 since Trubisky took over. The defense has been able to keep the Bears playoff hopes alive with their consistency. The offense must rise to the occasion to win the division and be a threat in the playoffs.
