Student Association to sponsor trip to Springfield to rally for MAP, budget

The Student Association will sponsor a trip to Springfield to promote activism regarding MAP grants and the state budget, according to an NIU news release. 

Students will leave from the east side of the Holmes Student Center at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and return around 3 p.m. 

Students will arrive at 10 a.m. for a rally at the University of Illinois at Springfield and then will be bussed to the Old State Capitol where the “March for MAP” will take place, according to the news release. Students will then march at 11:15 a.m. from the Old State Capitol to the State Capitol.

After the march, students will be able to meet with and lobby their local legislators regarding MAP funding and the state budget.
