Spring Break Destination Spots

By Samantha Keck

With endless talk about where everyone is going for spring break next week, it’s just a reminder that this is the time of the year for choosing the best possible vacation.

Whether it’s a family vacation or a spontaneous trip with your friends from school, far or close, there are endless destinations you can travel to and it’s never too early to start planning for next year.

South Padre Island, Texas

South Padre Island, Texas is now notorious for being the new Panama City Beach, Fla., because the popular Florida destination now has new restrictions on the beaches. It’s where all the college kids go to hang out and have a good time during spring break.

There is an endless amount of events during the spring break season such as days at the Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark and evening concerts like The Chainsmokers on Wednesday. There are also places you can travel to outside of the island to enhance your vacation experience.

Cancun, Mexico

Cancun, Mexico is another popular spring break spot. It’s a calm place to have a fully relaxing vacation. It’s another location that is versatile to both a family or friend vacation. There are all-inclusive packages available to get the resort experience, which then makes it easier to save money and plan a trip. Cancun is likely the most expensive option, but I’m sure it is sure worth the money.

Chicago

Lastly, when all other options sound too expensive, there’s always Chicago. There are plenty of things to do and if you or someone you know lives around there, you don’t need to worry about a place to stay. Between simple structures such as the Bean and unique shopping in smaller neighborhoods, you can find an activity that can be both inexpensive and cater to your wants.

These are just a few options that are commonly known and well-liked locations. Spring break is only a day away — grab some friends and then let the fun begin!
