Spring season to inspire bold wardrobe

By Alexis Malapitan

Being on the ball with the latest fashion trends can be exhausting – but it is possible. From Spanish-influenced floral, 70’s-style inspired subdue and more, this year’s fashion trends are not shying away from culture, different style decades and pops of color.

If you’re anything like me and love color, that’s all your wardrobe will be filled with this year. If you plan to be the most fashionable Huskie on campus, it’s important to create your own style. Fashion is a way of expression. So, mix, match and have fun.

Statement Slip-On’s

Being in a rush can be stressful – especially if you’re on your way to work or class. You don’t have time to search your closet for the perfect pair of shoes to go with your outfit, so why not go with slip-on sneakers? These friendly shoes are easy to put on and come in a variety of colors.

With spring just around the corner, brighter colors like coral red would a nice pop to your look. Experiment with different textures like silk or woven textures. Shoes are just as important when it comes to the outfit itself.

Oversized Florals

Florals are in every spring season, but this year is just as prominent because they’re bigger and bolder. On tank tops, sweaters, dresses and more, flower patterns are here to stay.

Mini Skirts

When I think miniskirts, pink ladies from the 50’s and poodle skirts automatically pop into my head. Miniskirts are a timeless classic and can be worn many different ways, but can also serve as fashion forward look this spring. It’s good to stay modern and simple, so pair a miniskirt with a solid-colored sweater or T-shirt or wear your favorite pair of leggings underneath.
