Iroegbu chosen for dunk contest

NIU senior wing Chuks Iroegbu has been selected to participate in the 2016 State Farm Dark Horse Dunker competition in the 28th Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championship on Mar. 31 on ESPN.

Iroegbu is one of 16 contestants that fans will get to vote for daily at DarkHorseDunker.com throughout the four-week tournament.

The competition is a digital media contest that matches up 16 college dunkers in a bracket. Fans can use DarkHorseDunker.com to vote for their favorite players. The player with the most votes in each matchup moves on to the next round. Video highlight reels of each competitor will be available on the website to help fans pick their top choice. The winner will be announced Mar. 10. Voting began noon Wednesday and will end March 9 at 11:59 a.m.

The athlete that receives the most votes in the final round will compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & Three-Point Championships. The event will be held in Houston.
