The Egyptian Theatre’s Horror Film Series will continue Thursday with a showing of “The Innocents.”

The series, held this year in place of the annual Amenti Haunted House, will showcase horror films throughout October. The haunted house will return next year after changes and developmental planning to better the project, which has been in the DeKalb community for 10 years, said Alex Nerad, executive director of the Egyptian Theater.

“Most people see these classic films at home,” Nerad said. “Watching these on a larger screen is an extremely different experience.”

The screening of “The Innocents,” a psychological thriller about a woman who encounters supernatural phenomena while teaching two orphans, will start at 7 p.m. at the The Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors, and can be purchased online or at the door.

The theatre will screen films on Oct. 20, 27, 29 and 31. A free showing of “Hocus Pocus” will be held on Oct. 31.
