Roads, lots close due to Corn Fest

Roads and parking lots in the downtown area of DeKalb will begin to close today and Thursday due to Corn Fest.

Parking Lot closures

The annual festival will be held Friday through Sunday and includes a carnival which will be located in the Glidden, Ellwood and Haish city parking lots between Oak and Locust off of Second and Third St.

Closures for parking lots will begin at 6 p.m. today and remain closed until 11 p.m. Sunday.

The parking lots of Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, Frontier Communications, Russ Burns Law Office and the DeKalb Public Library employee lot will also close due to the carnival.

Road closures 

Roads including Lincoln Highway between First and Fourth Streets. will close at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Second and Third Streets between Oak and the railroad tracks will also close.

Locust St. between First and Third St. will close at 3 p.m. Thursday due to the Farmer’s Market.

Locust St. will remain partially open at the First State Bank drive-thru until 12 p.m. Saturday then close until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Corn Fest parking

City lots at the corners of Fourth St. and Grove St. as well as at Second St. and Grove St. will remain open throughout the festival. Street parking on Locust St. on the east side of Fourth St. will also be available.
