TAILS Humane Society is collecting donations for pets displaced by the April 9 tornado.

Tails, 2250 Barber Greene Road, is collecting food and litter to be distributed to those affected by the tornado, according to its Facebook page.

“Right now they have about 30 pallets of dog and cat food and a whole bunch of crates and carriers,” said TAILS executive director Michelle Groeper. “We’re working with DeKalb Animal Control and Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin and together we’re going to be moving all of those supplies from Kirkland to a warehouse in DeKalb.”

Community members who need a donation can call 815-758-2457 ext. 106 to arrange a pickup. To help give donations, volunteers can call 815-758-2457 ext. 103.
