Midwest Museum of Natural History to hold Hawaiian culture event

By Northern Star staff

The Midwest Museum of Natural History will hold Luau noon to 3 p.m. March 28 at 425 W. State St. in Sycamore.

This event will celebrate the beginning of spring and raise awareness of Hawaiian culture. Sarah Trygstad, social media marketing intern, said families can expect authentic Hawaiian food, music and dance, as well as Polynesian crafts.

The event aims to educate while also bringing the community together in a family-friendly way. Halau Hula’O Puanani, a school of traditional Hawaiian dance, will be featured at the event. There will also be food from Ono Kine Grindz, a Hawaiian market.

Admission is free for museum members and $3 for non-members. Go to mmnh.org for more information.
