English students to display research projects at Showcase of Student Writing

By Northern Star staff

The First Year Composition Program will hold its eighth annual Showcase of Student Writing 3-5 p.m. April 6 in the Holmes Student Center, Duke Ellington Ballroom.

English students will display research projects and engage attendees through discussions and the use of visual aids. A panel of judges will award cash prizes to the top three projects displayed.

Many students in past events have included interactive elements in their displays, said Michael Day, director of the First Year Composition Program.

The showcase is a celebration of “writing as a way of performing actions in the real world,” Day said.
