Warming centers available in DeKalb

DeKalb has four warming centers available for residents during extreme cold weather situations, according to a Jan. 5 DeKalb news release:

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday

Hope Haven, 1145 Rushmore Dr., is a “no turn away shelter” and is available when the warming centers are closed, according to the news release.

Residents can call 815-748-8400 to locate a warming center or request a well-being check for someone who may be in danger during extreme weather.

To report inadequate heat in a residential building or to resolve a heating problem with a landlord, call 815-748-2070 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 815-748-8460 after hours.
