By Northern Star Staff

The final open forum for public comment on the NIU Progressive Learning in Undergraduate Studies report to the provost is today.

The NIU PLUS program, which will begin implmenting its reforms this fall, plans to increase flexibility of general education requirements by decreasing the number of credit hours required to fulfill a student’s general education as well as allowing students to use earned credit from other courses in their general education and major requirements.

The public is encouraged to read the report online and attend the open forum 9-10:30 a.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Illinois Room.

Comments may also be sent to [email protected] or to general education coordinator Michael Kolb at Altgeld Hall, Room 215, no later than Friday.
