Police Crime Reports: Oct. 16-20

Saturday

• At 2:06 a.m., an officer patrolling Crane Drive and Annie Glidden Road met with two people who were younger than 21 and in possession of alcohol.

The people were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

• At 2:59 a.m., an officer went to 850 Pappas Drive for a wellbeing check. The officer investigated and found the person was in possession of a controlled substance. Brian A. Gomez, 23, of Plano, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

• At 3:24 a.m., an officer patrolling Stevenson towers North met with a person in regard to a report of disorderly conduct. Breitner Azard, 19, of Matteson, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• At 4:02 a.m., an officer patrolling Grant Towers North met with a person who was younger than 21 in and possession of alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 5:48 a.m., an officer patrolling Douglas Hall met with a person in regard to a report of theft. The complainant recovered his or her property. This case is closed, unfounded.

• At 10:13 p.m., an officer patrolling the 800 block of West Hillcrest Drive met with a person who was younger than 21 and in possession of alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

• At 10:53 p.m., an officer patrolling Douglas Hall met with a person in regard to pot and tampering with a smoke detector. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with a security, fire or life safety system.

• At 11:25 p.m., an officer patrolling Grant Drive extension met with a person who was younger than 21 and in possession of alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sunday

• At 3:07 p.m. Oct. 15, an officer in the NIU Police Department took a report of credit card fraud. Sunday, the report of credit card fraud was determined to be unfounded. Andre D. Mallory, 22, of North Chicago, was arrested for filing a false police report.

• At 12:37 a.m., an officer patrolling West Hillcrest Drive and Greenbrier Road met with a person who was younger than 21 and in possession of alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct.

• At 1:43 a.m., an officer stopped a car at Loren Drive and North Annie Glidden Road. The driver, Victor L. Grear, 27, of Chicago, had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. Grear was arrested.

• At 5:17 a.m., an officer stopped a car at 805 W. Lincoln Highway. A person in the car was younger than 21 and had consumed alcohol. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 5:16 p.m., an officer in the NIU Police Department took a report of criminal damage. This case is open.

• At 11:18 p.m., an officer stopped a car at 1400 N. Annie Glidden Road. The officer discovered pot in the car. Qawmane C. Wilson, 23, of Chicago, was arrested for possession of cannabis. A person in the car provided the officer with false information and had an active warrant for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense. Kenyata D. Fair, 23, of Chicago, was arrested for the warrant and obstructing identification.

Monday

• At 1:11 a.m., an officer stopped a car in Lot K. The driver of the car was in possession of pot and had an active arrest warrant for a probation violation. Brandon Spann, 18, of Aurora, was given a verbal warning for possession of cannabis and arrested for the warrant.

• At 7:35 p.m., an officer went to Douglas Hall for a report of harassment. The officer determined the incident to be disorderly conduct and a person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for disorderly conduct.
