Campus likely to see snow

NIU will likely have its first snowfall today, although it will be light.

DeKalb is expected around an inch of snowfall today, but NIU meteorologist Gilbert Sebenste said it should melt quickly due to a still relatively warm ground temperature. Cars and grass will hold the snow a bit longer. DeKalb typically sees around a tenth of an inch of snow in October, Sebenste said.

“The rest of the week should be dry and chilly, with highs mostly between 45 and 50 degrees and lows at night in the upper 20’s,” Sebenste said. “That’s a good 10 degrees below average.”
