Hanks rocks boat, Machete faces evil

By Michael Kinnaman

“Captain Phillips”

The movie illustrates the terrifying dangers of vicious Somali pirates taking over a captain’s boat and the horrors that come with it.

“Captain Phillips” is the true story of Captain Richard Phillips, who in 2009 had his boat hijacked and was forced to fight for his and his crew’s lives. Starring Tom Hanks in the titular role of Phillips, this film elaborates on the insane true story and sheds light on Somali pirates.

Directed by Paul Greengrass, “Captain Phillips” looks to have the same fast-paced style as his previous films “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” The casting looks great, and Greengrass will get the most out of each actor’s performance.

This film is an action-filled true story that will be Oscar-worthy. “Captain Phillips” has a great cast, fantastic crew and is produced by Kevin Spacey. “Captain Phillips” will be an action drama that hits all the right points.

“Machete Kills”

Senseless violence is all around with Machete in “Machete Kills.”

The third movie of the fake trailers for “Grindhouse,” “Machete Kills” looks to shock and awe the audience with what is sure to be lots and lots of gory scenes. The cast includes Danny Trejo, Mel Gibson, Amber Heard and many more stars. The over-the-top film creators collaborated well with the fantastic actors.

Director Robert Rodriguez will add surreal, action-packed scenes. When Machete is asked by the president of the United States to help stop a terrorist, he learns of another threat: a crime boss who is trying to start riots in every country. It is Machete’s job to figure out how to stop the attacks from happening.

This film is not for the faint. There will be plenty of swearing and blood and will be what some would call a hard “R.” Nonetheless, “Machete Kills” looks to be a fun thrill ride from start to finish.
