‘True Blood’ finale: What you’ll miss, and won’t, after the show

By Aymie Telinski

The vampires of “True Blood” will take their last sip of O negative in summer 2014.

The recent announcement made me think of things I will and will not miss about the show.

Five Things I Won’t Miss

5. Tara

As Sookie’s best friend, this character has been an annoyance since the first episode. She is killed in one episode (and I have never been happier), but in the next episode she is turned into a vampire and gets to stay the rest of the series. She is loud and annoying and is a frustrating character.

4. Fairies

I am so confused as to why this group of mythical creatures is even in this show. They don’t really have a story until season six. I always forget Sookie has a light, and their blood makes vampires go crazy. Why is that a thing?

3. Terry Bellefleur

Terry is a cook at Merlotte’s Bar and Grill who planned on killing himself but then got killed. I was so upset Terry died and was thinking his death would be forgotten. Oh no, joke’s on me because Terry’s funeral left me ugly crying the whole episode.

2. Sam Merlotte’s white trash family

Sam is a troubled bartender who is a shifter. When his real family rolls into town, it’s nothing but trouble for him. The Merlotte family turns Sam crazy and is not necessary.

1. Bill Compton

Bill is the main vampire of the show. During the first season, I loved Bill and Sookie’s relationship and thought they were perfect for each other. As the series went on he became more and more powerful by working his way up in the vampire government. He always acts as if he is “the” vampire and everyone should respect him.

5. When Bill Compton says “Sookie,” and the sound of vampire teeth coming out

Bill has a certain tone that none of the other characters have on the show. Bill manages to say “Sookie” so powerfully distinct. In addition, when vampires get angry and their teeth pop out, it has a funny sound that you know means business.

4. Any time Lafayette, Jason Stackhouse or Andy Bellefleur open their mouths

These three characters will always have a spot in my heart. I love when Lafayette calls anyone “hooker.” Whenever Andy sees Bill, he’s always calling him “Vampire Bill.” Jason is one of the dumbest characters, but he always has a kind thing to say and something to make me laugh.

3. Hoyt

I have loved him since the first time he was on the show. As Jason’s best friend, he was always so kind. When Hoyt and Jessica broke up and he left the show, I was heartbroken. Every episode I watch, I always hope he will come back. In the sixth season finale they mention him, so I have hope he will return for the last season.

2. Eric Northman

My favorite thing about Eric is when he lost his memory and was very scared. Later, Sookie took care of him, and they had a fling.

1. Pam Swynford De Beaufort and Ginger

Pam is the most sarcastic characters and always says exactly what I’m thinking, while Ginger is a human who has been around vampires too long and maybe got glamored one too many times throughout the show.
