Police Reports: Aug. 30-Sept. 2

Aug. 30

• At 9:15 p.m., an officer was sent to the Lot O for a report of pot. An officer investigation and determined the report unfounded.

• At 11:20 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune East for a report of pot. The officer investigated and discovered the report to be unfounded.

Aug. 31

• At 12:54 a.m., an officer on patrol of the Convocation Center spoke with a person in regard to pot. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for possession of cannabis.

• At 1:23 a.m., an officer was sent to Grant Towers North for a report of an intoxicated person. The officer made contact with the person, who was younger than 21 and intoxicated. The person was referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

• At 1:50 a.m., an officer was sent to Grant Towers North for a report of harassment by telephone. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 4:15 a.m., an officer was sent to Lot C2 for a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case was closed due to a lack of leads.

• At 11:25 a.m., an officer was sent to Lot NV for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 3:27 p.m., an officer was sent to the Convocation Center for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

Sept. 1

• At 1:50 a.m. Saturday, an officer was sent to Grant Towers North for a report of harassment by telephone. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Sunday, the case was closed at the request of the complainant.

• At 11:25 a.m. Saturday, an officer was sent to Lot NV for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. On Sunday, the complainant recovered their property and the case was closed.

• At 12:19 a.m., an officer was sent to Lot 7 for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 2:36 p.m., an officer was sent to the NIU Police Department for a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The case is open pending further investigation.

• At 8:56 p.m., an officer was sent to Stevenson Towers North for a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. The officer determined the report to be unfounded.

• At 11:29 p.m., an officer was sent to Grant Towers North for a report of unlawful consumption of alcohol by minors. The officer spoke with the people in question, who were younger than 21 and consuming alcohol. The people were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Sept. 2

At 10:03 a.m., an officer stopped a car in the 1300 block of West Lincoln Highway. Adrian A. Doak, 26, of DeKalb was arrested for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Edgar M. Aburto, 23, of DeKalb, was arrested for possession of cannabis. David Rodriguez, 25, of DeKalb, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Doak, Aburto and Rodriguez were processed at the NIU Police Department.

At 9:55 p.m., an officer was sent to Neptune East in regard to a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report, but the case was closed.

At 10:57 p.m., an officer was sent to Grant Towers North in regard to a report of pot. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. This case was closed.

At 11:17 p.m., a community adviser at Neptune East saw someone damage property. The incident was reported to the on-duty hall director.
