Porn, Formula One, meatballs

By Mike Kinnaman

Sex, gym, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and serious porn addiction — this movie has everything.

Gordon-Levitt wrote, directed and starred in “Don Jon,” which is a movie about a man with high expectations. A typical Jersey guy, Jon has everything: a loving family, great friends and a strong bond with his church. He also has a terrible addiction to online pornography. His love life is stale because nothing can come close to the fantasies he has seen online. Realizing his lifestyle is not healthy, Jon seeks a realistic sex life, but finds more in his journey. Gordon-Levitt’s first venture into directing feature lengths looks to come out swinging with a movie that has not been done before. This film takes a different look at a life that many A-list stars would refuse to play, let alone write and direct.

The time has come to see Thor as a Formula One driver.

“Rush” is a true story about the rivalry between two formula one drivers — James Hunt and Niki Lauda — in the ’70s. This film looks artistically directed by Ron Howard with his signature action-packed style. “Rush” has an all-star cast with Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Bruhl and Olivia Wilde. While the movie looks like a normal biopic, the acting and directing should hold this film up. Although fans of racing will probably love “Rush,” it could be a hit or miss for others.

It’s time for another awesome food storm. This cartoon story looks to bring fun for the whole family with an almost original story this time. The first film was loosely based off Judi and Ron Barrett children’s book. The movie had a wide range of humor with jokes appreciated by younger and older generations. In “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” Flint Lockwood and his friends are to leave town after a destructive storm. But when a company hired to clean up the island employs Lockwood, he realizes it is using his machine for the wrong reasons. “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” intends to add to the original movie’s creative storyline and should be fun for all ages.
