No injuries reported in Sycamore fire

A fire at 339 Chauncey St. in Sycamore on Saturday night caused about $200,000 in damage, according to a Sunday news release from the Sycamore Fire Department.

The department arrived on scene at 11:58 p.m. and had the fire under control within 45 minutes, according to the department. Heavy structural damage and the size of the fire caused the department to spend an additional hour and a half on overhauling the property.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, but appears to have started in the area of the kitchen, according to the department.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire and the Sycamore Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Cortland and DeKalb fire departments.
