The following was taken directly from the University Police. Anyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law. The University Police Department provides police reports on the Web at finfacil.niu.edu/PublicSafety.

On Nov. 13 at 8:40 p.m., an officer on patrol of Stevenson Towers South was approached by an individual regarding a report of theft. The officer took a report from the complainant. On Tuesday, Ray C. Ramey was arrested on a warrant for theft. He was taken to the NIU police department, processed and released on $200 bond.

At 6:07 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Emergency Management and Planning building regarding a report of theft. The officer met with the complainant and took a report. At 7 p.m., the complainant reported that the cellphone was located. The case was closed as unfounded.

At 8:24 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Russell Road and Crane Drive. The driver of the vehicle gave false information to the officer and fled from the scene on foot. This case is open pending further investigation.
